Assistant Principal Profile: Rana Allbritton

I was born and raised in Texas, with a short time in Louisiana.  You could say I am a stereotypical Texan having grown up on ranches, driving tractors, and raising cattle.  After graduation I attended the University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate degree and earned my Masters in Education from Concordia University.  I did not initially begin college to be a teacher, but when I made the change my mom only laughed and said, "Well, I am not surprised.  You used to make attendance sheets for your stuffed animals."  For over the last decade, I have worked in a variety of districts in and around the Austin area from an Middle School math teacher to Instructional Coach to District Math Coordinator and now an Assistant Principal.  

Currently, I live in Georgetown with my husband, three kids, English bulldog, and cat.  Our oldest son attends Cooper Elementary and the other two attend daycare in Jarrell.   Georgetown has been one of my favorite places to live.  Our hope is to stay in this area, buy land, and build our dream home.  In reality we want space for our two boys to run around and get dirty.  We love taking trips as a family and spending time outdoors.  

I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community of Forbes Middle School.  Georgetown has become my family's home and I hope to make GISD my work-home, too.
