If a student leaves during the day for a doctor's appointment and a doctor's note is returned, the student will not be counted absent for the class period(s) missed.
Doctor's notes are extremely important for perfect attendance.
Middle School students are counted absent for each period they miss. A note is required before any absence can be excused.
District policy allows 3 days for receipt of notes.
When a student is absent or will be absent for 3 days, homework may be requested.
Call attendance by 10:00 am to request homework, and it will be available for pick-up at the receptionist's desk after 3:30 pm.
Automatic letters are generated for the missing 3 days of school. Upon missing a 10th day of school, your family is in violation of the compulsory school attendance law, and charges may be filed.
Your student will also be expected to attend credit recovery classes in order to gain credit for the school year.
Thank you for your cooperation,
