Sonja Brewer

Bio: 

I graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2009 and have spent the last eight years in education as a certified Special Education and English teacher. I started my teaching career at the high school level, but after moving to middle school two years ago, I found my true teaching home. I love working with 8th graders—their energy, honesty, and humor keep every day interesting. In this class, we work hard, think deeply, and aren’t afraid to use our voices.

Outside the English classroom, I’ve been happily married for 16 years to my husband, a high school Computer Science teacher. Together, we’re raising three amazingly unique kids who keep life busy, loud, and full of personality. When I’m not teaching or spending time with my family, you can usually find me reading—I love books and rarely go anywhere without one, most often tucked away on my Kindle.
